Two white rhinoceroses grazing head to head, horns almost touching, South Africa

Workshops & expeditions

Photograph wildlife with me: abroad with Okapi Travel, in a course with Fotocademia, or on a day in the field in Costa Rica.

How I travel and teach

  1. Small groups

Okapi Travel expeditions are small-group trips, so there is room at every sighting and time for each photographer.

  2. Led by photographers

The days are planned around light and wildlife, by people who photograph it themselves.

  3. Teaching in the field

Settings, composition and reading animal behaviour, explained where it happens. In Spanish or English.

A day in the field with me

Guided photo outings planned around what you want to photograph, like a morning at the bird feeders and the King Vulture hide in Boca Tapada.

  1. Tell me what you want to photograph, and when you are in Costa Rica.
  2. I suggest the place and the timing for the best light and the best chance of the animal.
  3. We spend the day in the field; I help with settings and composition as we go.
